Space Harmony

Live Installation and Dance Performance

Space Harmony explores the intimate connection between the motion of an installation and the bodily actions of dancers. The installation itself “dances” — it is a living, moving entity that responds to and interacts with the performers. At the same time, the dancers become part of the sculptural concept, acting as the installation’s “dance partners.”

During the performance, dance and installation hold equal importance as independent yet mutually responsive fragments of a larger cohesive whole. This dynamic interplay blurs the boundaries between human movement and spatial design, creating a shared space where installation and dance co-create a continuous dialogue.

Set in Darat al Funun in Amman, Jordan, Space Harmony invites the audience to experience an immersive environment where the fluid relationship between body and space unfolds. The installation’s responsive motion and the dancers’ physicality merge, inviting new ways to engage with dance beyond traditional performance.

Artistic Approach

Developed as a live hybrid of installation and dance, Space Harmony treats both elements as partners in a constantly evolving performance. The installation moves in direct response to the dancers’ movements, while the dancers integrate into the sculptural form, becoming active participants in the spatial composition. The setting of Darat al Funun—with its historic architecture and surrounding gardens—adds layers of cultural resonance, enriching the dialogue between contemporary movement and space. This innovative approach redefines how dance and installation can coexist as equal, interdependent collaborators within an immersive artistic experience.
